Fast Shutter Speed: Approximately what shutter speed did you use to freeze action? The shutter speed I used for the first photo with the blanket was 1/400 sec.
What ISO and WB settings did you use? The ISO of the first photo was 200 and the white balance was on automatic.
What action did you freeze? (Describe). In the first photo I froze the movement of the blanket being waved up and down.
What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? The photo's point of view was a front/side view, I had a far distance and had to zoom slightly.
Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strenghthen the photo. (rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...) The compositional elements that are present are positive and negative space, line, and strong colors. Slow Shutter Speed: Approximately what shutter speed did you use to purposely blur action? For the photo of the umbrella the shutter speed was 1/4 sec.
What ISO and WB settings did you use? The ISO of the photo was 200 and the white balance was on automatic.
What motion, or part of the image shows blur? (Describe). The umbrella shows motion by having blur because if was spinning around.
What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? I was straight across from the umbrella in the photo.
Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strenghthen the photo. (rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...) The compositional elements that are present are line and texture in the background.
Painting With Light
Reflection
Describe one of your photos from painting with light. In the bottom middle photo you can see the blue light being moved around and Faye's face was being moved.
What shutter speed did you have the camera on? The shutter speed was at 4 seconds.
What light source did you use to create the painting? The light source was the blue light and a small white light.
How did you achieve the image/effect? I achieved the effect by the blue light being around and Faye having a white light on her face as she moved to the side.
How would the viewer feel looking at your photo? The viewer would feel as if time was slowing down and they were in dark room in a suspenseful movie.
Shallow What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a shallow depth of field? For the first picture of the camera the f-stop was 63.
What ISO and WB settings did you use? The ISO was 2200 and the white balance was fluorescent.
Large What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a large depth of field? For the third picture of the camera the f-stop was 32.
What ISO and WB settings did you use? The ISO was 1600 and the white balance was incandescent.
Which photo is better? Why? I think the first photo of the camera is better because I like how the shallow depth shows only a certain part of the photo and the background including the camera is a blur. I believe having art of the photo blurred makes the photo overall more visually appealing.
Why would you want to use a shallow depth of field? If you wanted to take a picture of a certain spot or object, it would be better to use a shallow depth because it would be focused on the one specific spot and the rest would be a blur and not the main focus.
When/in what situation would a large depth of field be better? If you wanted to show scenery or multiple things far away you should use a large depth to focus on everything in the picture.
