I selected this photo because I liked the suspense caused by the contrast of the light and background. Compositionally, there are leading lines because of the repetition of the red circles. Also there is a sense of mystery shown by negative space and a slight outline of Faye. To take this photo I had the camera set on a 3 second (shutter speed) and a large depth of field. |
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is the leading lines. There is also contrast seen between the sky in the lower right corner and the power lines. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the levels to create a variety of grey. The camera was set to a large depth of field. This photo makes me think of a time-lapse of the cloud movement in the sky. |
This photo was taken for the studio portrait assignment. What I like about this photo is the dramatic story it tells. My point of view was direct. The photo follows the rule of thirds because of the location of Faye's eye and the moon falls where the lines would cross. There is a large depth of field and the ISO was set to 1600 and the White Balance was incandescent. |
I selected this photo because the shape of the blanket, being the focal point, had a unique curve creating interest. Compositionally, there is depth because the blanket is the foreground, the football field is the middle ground, and the trees would be the background. Also there is positive and negative space shown by the spaces of the fence. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/400 (shutter speed), the white balance was set on cloudy, and the ISO was set on 200. |
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is repetition of the face. There are also leading lines being created by the path of the blue line along with the stretch of white across the picture. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the negative space by making the background darker. The camera had a shutter speed of 4 seconds, and an ISO of 3200. This photo reminds me of a ghost slowly moving away from its original position. |
This photo was taken for the aperture assignment. What I like about this photo is the clear focus throughout the photo. My point of view was direct. The photo follows the rule of thirds because the camera is on the right vertical line. The depth of field is large, the ISO was set to 800, and the White Balance was incandescent. |
